What is your life worth if you can not laugh at...
Well… in all honesty life is probably worth about the same, regardless of laughter. With laughter life is just more amusing. Tolerable. Perhaps I say this because I do live my life with my foot so perpetually in my mouth? But hey!, I love to laugh. Maybe instead of getting frustrated, instead of becoming self-loathing, self-pittying, take a moment to observe the amusement which you can...

Andrew Bird & a car ride.
Yesterday some friends & I piled into two cars and headed down south. We drove to Boston’s Orpheum Theater. There we listened to Andrew Bird. The concert was exquisite. Andrew Bird takes to a stage and owns it. The concert was fabulous and undoubtably worth the 5 hour drive. Thank you to the resident-folks at Wheaton College’s Art & Eco Houses for putting us up for the evening....

Black Cab Sessions →
Black Cab Sessions is essentially the best website ever (ever happens a bunch). Pretty much it goes like this:
an amazing musical performance
a crazy talented musician (or a cab full of ‘em)
a cabby
pissa acoustics
hookey camera work
Check it. I hope you love it.

gravity -- you bitch you
Today has been an epic fight against gravity and karma. I am loosing. There is snow & gravelly grit outside (traction reasons), this snow & grit likes to cling to shoe soles. I do not like tracking solegrit about the interior of buildings, so I kick my feet atgainst walls & what not to loosen the grit & all. Well, I just kicked a wall a little more vigorously then I meant to. Ouch,...

dance dance dance dance, C. Brontë & social...
Danced all night until the break of day. I need to read Shirley for class on monday.
I adore the awkward social interaction of a dance. I go to a particularly tiny college on an island. It is wonderful. The pool of folk is limited, however. Escape from ‘em is hard… if not impossible?, we are around each other a lot. I’ve recently realized that being alone, here, is a really arbitrary sort of...

jane austen & sledding
Snowed all night! Woke up, classes delayed, went sledding with some friends on “bunker hill,” as the local kids call it. Awesome. Oh’, I also drew a picture for a 2d design class. Now I’m off to read Persuasion, by Jane Austen — paying particular attention to the persuading bits.
New video from Empire of the Sun, from their debut album ‘Walking on a Dream,’ which will be released in the uk & europe in febuaray. I think that it is already out in australia… america?
frozen bubbles
It is sort of cold here in Bar Harbor right now, -8°f. Spent some time with friends outside blowing bubbles. Yeah, they totally freeze at these temperatures, which is awesome. Soap bubbles sort of shred and turn to an oily sort of confetti. Magic.
