this blog, like many before it, and probably many to come, is dead. do not mourn it’s passing. there is no great loss. change is inevitable. change is good.
Pioneers! O Pioneers! (thanks Walt)
COME, my tan-faced children,Follow well in order, get your weapons ready,Have you your pistols? Have you your sharp-edged axes?Pioneers! O pioneers! For we cannot tarry here,We must march my darlings, we must bear the brunt of danger,We the youthful sinewy races, all the rest on us depend,Pioneers! O pioneers!O you youths, Western youths,So impatient, full of action, full of manly pride and...

flash narrative?
Still I am lonely. Still. Everything is running smoothly. Still. Except for that one light right outside of my apartment. It flickers. Still. It has been 6 weeks now. If I was on Earth I’d change the light bulb; being on this ship means that you would need a degree in quantum mechanics and astrophysics to even understand how to screw the light bulb in. I think I’d cause the ship to...

atomic emotions
Self sufficiency: An interesting concept in communal living or within a system made of many individuals? Where is the self? Atoms and what not interact as individuals. I am made up of atoms and what not. I interact with other folks as an individual. Individuals made of individuals. So much of my interaction with other folks is dictated by emotions and how I am feeling that I wonder if atoms and...

Boof
I’ve two sort of genaric e-mail subject lines which I use for e-mails that aren’t much more than an interesting link — supercalifragilisticexpialidocious & boof. Does anyone get the one which is boof? It is more and anamanapoetic. It is the name of a character from Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf anyone…? (is anamanapoetic even a word?)

HOME. I thought of having something philosophically meandering here. I couldn’t organize myself in a coherent fashion though. Anyways. I’m in VA after driving down with my pa and step mother… it was mostly uneventful. My parents spoke about physics the entire drive (literally). I watched an 18 wheeler’s tire explode, so that was exciting. Now I’m here fro 2 weeks. Then I’m off...

One of the best parties I’ve ever attended followed an absolutely wonderful saturaday with friendlyfolk.
Sunday:
Mamosas in the daytime.
Skin all covered in sunshine.
…a little cliche (by cliche I think I mean embarasing?) but lovely.
Then I went for a walk with Julie after dinner. It was rather dark and we were out and about on the carriage roads in Acadia National Park. It being dark (and...

folk: what about being prepared for what comes your way?
me: well, I have realized that what 'comes my way' are books. I can deal with books in the buff if need be.

life of late
It is finals week. My computer died on the Saturaday before it started. My computer is in the mail hoping to be resurected… like Jesus or something. I participated in what may have very well been the best high five of all human existance. Awesome. I will be at Aprovecho this summer. I will be on a friends maple syrup farm all throughout spring break, making m’self sticky with goodness....
computers & babies
me: I was looking at the think pads, the t-series, ... then I saw the tablet and oh my goodness...but no, I don't need that!
Eric: there's a tablet?
me: yeah there is! http://shop.lenovo.com/us/notebooks/thinkpad/x-series-tablet
me: just the idea of a tablet is cool, I don't think the functionality makes sense...if mac had one, however I'd dry hump that baby for a week. oh goodness why did I say baby there!? OH GOD!?
Eric: haha
me: thanks

If ‘our’ generation were to be categorized I think we’d be the ‘tell all’ generation. Our presence on the internet is calculated and embodied. It is a space where an existence is chosen and enacted… like clothes, but with more (explicit, and if I may say so, heavy handed) meaning. We exist freely and openly on the internet, yet it is a mask, and we do feel as if...
capoeira & life
Played some awesome capoeira this evening. Over the past few days I’ve not done a lot of school work, mostly, I’ve been working on figuring out my summer and spring breaks. I’m hoping to do more capoeira durring both of ‘em.

What is your life worth if you can not laugh at...
Well… in all honesty life is probably worth about the same, regardless of laughter. With laughter life is just more amusing. Tolerable. Perhaps I say this because I do live my life with my foot so perpetually in my mouth? But hey!, I love to laugh. Maybe instead of getting frustrated, instead of becoming self-loathing, self-pittying, take a moment to observe the amusement which you can...

Andrew Bird & a car ride.
Yesterday some friends & I piled into two cars and headed down south. We drove to Boston’s Orpheum Theater. There we listened to Andrew Bird. The concert was exquisite. Andrew Bird takes to a stage and owns it. The concert was fabulous and undoubtably worth the 5 hour drive. Thank you to the resident-folks at Wheaton College’s Art & Eco Houses for putting us up for the evening....
